International Shipping

W.W. Swalef & Son ships feathers all over the world but depending on what country you live in, you may or may not require a USDA Veterinary Health Certificate for customs clearance. If a health certificate is required, there is a $125.00 acquisition fee for this document.

Additionally, U.S. Fish & Wildlife maintains what they call a "Domesticated Species List". For exports of anything not on the domesticated species list, a USFW Export Declaration Document will also be required. The cost to acquire this document is $125.00.

FEATHERS FROM DUCKS, GEESE, ROOSTERS, TURKEYS, AND GUINEA FOWL DO NOT REQUIRE A USFW EXPORT DECLARATION. ALL OTHER TYPES OF FEATHERS SUCH AS PHEASANT AND OSTRICH REQUIRE AN EXPORT DECLARATION.

PEACOCK FEATHERS CANNOT BE EXPORTED.

Just about every other country will require a health certificate. If we have shipped to your country before, a health certificate should only take about one week for us to acquire. If we haven't shipped to your country before, we will need to get some information from your ministry of agriculture/animal health which could take some time. Typically, about 3-4 weeks. Contact us for further information.

In addition to a health certificate, you may also be required to obtain an import permit before you can have your shipment cleared. It is your responsibility to find out how to obtain an import permit and whether or not one will be required.
